Dr. Rodney Brooks

Rodney Brooks is currently Panasonic Professor of Robotics in the Electrical Engineering and Computer Science Department at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. He is also founder and Chief Technical Officer of iRobot Corp. Dr. Brooks, like all of us here at Idealistics, works to combine business, technology, and academics with the aim of creating positive change in the world.

Dick Guthrie

Dick Guthrie has spent his entire career in non-profit and government human services. Over the course of his career, Dick has worked at the Boys and Girls Club and spent several years as Director of Human Services for the City of Claremont until his retirement in 2006. Dick brings considerable management experience and human services insight to the Idealistics Advisory Board.

Larry Haynes

Larry Haynes joined Mercy House in May of 1990 as its original employee and continues to serve as the agency’s Executive Director. Mercy House provides a combination of continuum and immediate housing services: rental assistance/immediate housing with case management, emergency shelter and services, transitional housing for a variety of populations, permanent housing with supportive services (including full university scholarships). Mercy House operates in Orange, San Bernardino, and Los Angeles Counties, California.

Marco Ramirez

Marco has worked in the nonprofit industry as both a direct service provider and as an administrator since 2002. He has held various positions with responsibilities ranging from case manager to directing large-scale initiatives. To remain in touch with the social service industry, Marco serves on the boards of directors for LINC Housing, Asian Rehabilitation Services, and Reach Out West End. He also volunteers on a number of steering and advisory committees for organizations such as Centro Latino de Educacion Popular, Greater Los Angeles Earned Income Tax Credit Campaign Partnership, and FDIC's Alliance for Economic Inclusion. He leverages his existing network to raise awareness and secure resources for groups that serve low- to moderate-income communities.
