When a constituent accesses your Community Resources site, she answers a few simple questions which establish a needs profile. From there, she is presented with a custom listing of community resources. The look of the site and questions used for establishing the needs profile are custom designed for each system.

Step one - Needs assessment

The needs assessment is based around two simple concepts “I am” and “I need.” Answering questions in these two simple questions is all it takes to create a quick but thorough needs assessment.

Step two - Custom resource list

Based on answers to the needs assessment, the system determines eligibility for community resource programs, then ranks the programs based on relevance and proximity to the user.

Step three - Detailed resource information

Each community resource program has detailed contact information, program description, website, physical address, and driving directions. Users can also leave comments about and rate programs to help you gauge program effectiveness.

In action - City of Pomona

Idealistics partnered with the City of Pomona Youth and Family Master plan to create a comprehensive Community Resources system. The system was designed to help Pomona residents find the community programs they need. The system, which is accessible at www.pomonafamilyresources.org, , has helped connect families to a wide variety of services from counseling and basic needs programs to recreation and mentoring programs.
